PRODUCTION MOQ
MINIMUM ORDER QUANTITY
AT PRODUCTION OUR MOQ IS 50 UNITS PER STYLE. WHICH CAN BE SPLIT INTO 2 COLOURWAYS AND UP TO 5 SIZES.
OUR MOQ PER ORDER AT PRODUCTION SHOULD BE A MINIMUM OF 250 UNITS.
You can split your order into different styles. If ordering our minimum of 250 units, you can split that between a maximum of 5 styles. You can also split your order between different colours and sizes.
EXAMPLES OF HOW TO SPLIT YOUR ORDER IF ORDERING THE MOQ:
1 STYLE X 250 UNITS = 250 UNITS
2 STYLES X 125 UNITS = 250 UNITS
5 STYLES X 50 UNITS = 250 UNITS
8 STYLES X 50 UNITS = 400 UNITS
10 STYLES X 50 UNITS - 500 UNITS
If you have 5 styles, you can order a minimum of 50 units per style and split your order into 2 different colours and a maximum of 5 sizes. A good size/colour breakdown ratio must be used to minimise fabric waste.
If you have 2 styles and want to order our minimum order quantity, then you will need to order 125 units per style. Again you can further split your order into different colours and sizes. As you are ordering 125 units of 2 styles, you can split your order up to 5 colours. If you order more units then you can further split into more colours if you wish.
If you want to produce 10 styles, for example, you will need to order 50 units of each style times by 10. This means you will need to order 500 units in total and you can split your order into different colourways and sizes as usual.
Please note you cannot split our MOQ of 250 units on 6 or more styles. Our MOQ per style is 50 units.
We can mass-produce larger quantities per style as well, to get a specific quote for your styles please email us your designs along with quantities so we can give you a quote.

YOUR BRAND. YOUR VISION.
At Clothing Manufacturers UK, we are passionate advocates for ethical and sustainable clothing production. This commitment is at the heart of our company ethos, influencing every aspect of our manufacturing process.
Made in London: Bringing Craftsmanship Home:
All our garments are proudly made in our London factory. This not only enables us to produce high-quality pieces quickly but also helps to revitalise the art of clothing manufacturing within the UK.
Benefits of Local Production:
- Quality Assurance: Close proximity allows for meticulous quality control.
- Speed: We can respond rapidly to trends and client needs.
- Support for Local Economy: By manufacturing locally, we bolster the UK economy and job market.
Sustainable Fabrics: Our Commitment to the Environment
Sustainability is woven into our fabric selection. We prioritise using sustainable materials that are either knitted or woven in the UK or Europe. This practice significantly reduces transportation miles and supports local fabric producers.
Our Fabric Policy:
- Sustainable Sourcing: We only work with ethical fabric and trim suppliers.
- Rigorous Vetting: Each supplier is carefully assessed to ensure the highest quality standards.
Fair Wages and Safe Working Conditions
We believe that everyone involved in the production process should be compensated fairly. This includes:
- Competitive Wages: Ensuring workers receive a fair income for their labour.
- Safe Environments: Upholding clean and safe working conditions for all.
Debunking the Cost Myths of UK Manufacturing
It is a common belief that manufacturing in the UK is more expensive than overseas. However, when you consider various factors, this isn’t always true:
Cost Considerations:
- Import Charges and Taxes: Additional costs associated with overseas production can add up quickly.
- Shipping Fees and VAT: These often make international manufacturing less economical.
- Communication Efficiency: Working with a UK manufacturer eliminates language barriers and time zone differences, leading to clearer communication and better project outcomes.
Collaboration with Our Clients
At Clothing Manufacturers UK, we believe in collaboration. We invite our clients to be actively involved in the manufacturing process.
Our Collaborative Approach:
- Fitting Sessions: Clients can provide direct feedback during fittings to ensure the desired outcome.
- Fabric Sampling: Clients have the opportunity to feel and select fabrics in our studio, a significant advantage over foreign manufacturers, where sample delivery can take weeks.
Quick Turnaround Times
Our production timeline is designed to be efficient. Typically, our garments take 4 to 8 weeks to produce, whereas international orders can take a minimum of 12 weeks—not including shipping times.
Summary of Timelines:
- Local Production: 4 to 8 weeks.
- International Production: 12+ weeks.
By choosing Clothing Manufacturers UK, you are not just opting for quality clothing; you are supporting a sustainable and ethical manufacturing process that values craftsmanship, fairness, and collaboration.
THE PROCESS
1
QUOTE
To provide you with an accurate quote, please email us your designs. These can include reference images, existing clothing pieces from your wardrobe, sketches, technical drawings, or tech packs. To ensure we fully grasp your vision, we encourage you to include any additional notes or specifications with your designs.
Once we receive your designs, our team will review them and prepare a quotation for you. To expedite the process, please specify the number of units required per style, the size range, and the number of colourways you’d like for each style. Your clarity will help us deliver the best possible outcome tailored to your needs.
2
CONSULTATION
Once you’ve reviewed the quotation and are satisfied with the prices, we’ll arrange a consultation to help bring your designs to life. During this meeting, we’ll explore your design concept in detail to ensure we fully understand your vision. You’ll have the opportunity to examine the fabrics available and choose the ones that resonate with you, as well as view examples of our previous work.
This is the perfect time to ask any questions you may have; we’re here to provide clarity and guidance. We’ll also outline the next steps in the process, ensuring you feel confident moving forward.
3
PATTERN MAKING
To kick off the process, we create patterns from scratch. Using references, images, tech packs, and physical samples, we craft designs tailored to each client’s unique requirements. If you’d like an exact replica of an existing sample, we can certainly accommodate that.
Since every service we offer is customised to our clients' needs, the timeline for pattern-making can vary. Factors such as the number of patterns requested, the complexity of the designs, and our current workload all play a role. Generally, this stage takes between 1 to 4 weeks to complete, ensuring that we deliver high-quality results tailored just for you.
4
TOILES
A vital step in developing new designs is the creation of a toile. This initial fitting of a garment is often not perfect, regardless of our pattern cutters' expertise, making the toile essential for refining the fit. If you provide us with physical samples and measurements, we can expedite the process and achieve better results.
Please note that toiles are not altered, and if you need additional sets, there will be an extra cost. Generally, it takes about 2 to 3 weeks to produce toiles for all styles, ensuring that we set a strong foundation for your designs.
5
GARMENT FIT SESSION
A garment fitting session is essential when creating a toile or testing the fit & shape of a new pattern. You can either wear the toile yourself or have a model try it on, allowing us to pinpoint any necessary adjustments together. Please note that we do charge a fee for garment fitting sessions. The first round of alterations to the pattern is complimentary, but any further modifications will incur an additional charge.
Some clients find that one fitting session suffices, while more complex styles may require two sessions to achieve the perfect fit. This collaborative process ensures that your designs are tailored precisely to your vision.
6
SAMPLES
Once you’ve selected the fabrics and trimmings, we’ll produce samples that resemble the final production garments. This is your opportunity to see and evaluate the product before full production begins.
The sampling process typically takes between one to three weeks, depending on our current workload and the complexity of the designs. If the samples meet your approval, we can move forward with production confidently. However, if adjustments are needed, this stage allows us to make any necessary changes, ensuring the final product aligns perfectly with your expectations.
7
GRADING
Once your samples are perfected and you're ready to move on to bulk manufacturing, we will begin the pattern grading process. If you have a specific grading rule in mind, please share it with us. If you’re unsure which grading rule would best suit your brand and garments, we can offer tailored recommendations based on your design and target market.
We can grade your patterns using our established grading rules, ensuring consistency and accuracy across sizes. This grading process typically takes about one week, setting the foundation for a successful production run that meets your specifications and resonates with your customers.
8
FABRIC/TRIMS ORDER
We can source your fabrics and trims, or you’re welcome to provide your own. Our extensive selection includes a variety of fabrics, but if we don’t have a specific swatch you’re looking for, we can reach out to our other suppliers to find it for you.
Before commencing bulk production, it’s essential to have the required quantities of fabric and trims on hand. Depending on your choice of fabric, we can also dye it to match your preferred Pantone colour. Additionally, we offer a range of sustainable options, including organic and recycled fabrics, to help you create environmentally friendly garments that align with your brand values.
9
PRODUCTION
Once grading is complete and we have your fabrics and trimmings ready, we can kick off bulk production. As our schedule can fill up quickly, it's crucial to book your production slot in advance to avoid any delays. We cannot begin production until all the necessary fabrics and trimmings have arrived, as late deliveries can disrupt the entire timeline.
Bulk production is an exciting phase where your designs come to life in large quantities. Typically, your garments will be ready in four to six weeks. However, for larger orders or more intricate designs, this process may take up to eight to twelve weeks, depending on our current workload. This is when your vision truly becomes a reality, and we’re here to ensure everything runs smoothly!
