PRODUCTION MOQ

MINIMUM ORDER QUANTITY

AT PRODUCTION OUR MOQ IS 250 UNITS PER ORDER - WHICH CAN THEN BE SPLIT BETWEEN DIFFERENT STYLES, COLOURS AND SIZES.

You can split your order into different styles. If ordering our minimum of 250 units, you can split that between a maximum of 5 styles. You can also split your order between different colours and sizes.

EXAMPLES OF HOW TO SPLIT YOUR ORDER IF ORDERING THE MOQ:

1 STYLE X 250 UNITS = 250 UNITS

2 STYLES X 125 UNITS = 250 UNITS

5 STYLES X 50 UNITS = 250 UNITS

If you have 5 styles, you can order a minimum of 50 units per style and split your order into 2 different colours and a maximum 5 sizes. A good size/colour breakdown ratio must be used to minimise fabric waste.

If you have 2 styles and want to order our minimum order quantity, then you will need to order 125 units per style. Again you can further split your order into different colours and sizes. As you are ordering 125 units of 2 styles, you can split your order up to 5 colours. If you order more units then you can further split into more colours if you wish.

Please note you cannot split our MOQ of 250 units on 6 or more styles. Our MOQ per style is 50 units.

We can mass-produce larger quantities per style as well, to get a specific quote for your styles please email us your designs along with quantities so we can give you a quote.

Pleated Fabric

YOUR BRAND. YOUR VISION.

At Clothing Manufacturers UK, we are strong believers in the value of ethical and sustainable manufacturing when it comes to producing clothing, and it forms a key part of our company ethos. All the garments that we create are made in our London factory - an effort that allows us to generate quality pieces quickly, and one which serves to bring the art of clothing manufacturing back to the UK. This emphasis on sustainability further extends to the fabric that we use, as we always strive to employ sustainable fabrics that are either knitted or woven in the UK or Europe; this in turn reduces our transportation miles and supports our local fabric producers. At all times, we only work with sustainable and ethical fabric and trim suppliers, ensuring that we vet each of them to guarantee the highest possible standard of product.

It is paramount to us that those who produce these materials and produce our clothing are paid a fair and competitive wage for their labour, as well as working in a clean and safe working environment. It is a commonly held belief that manufacturing in the UK is often more expensive than overseas production. However, this is not necessarily always the case, as when you factor in costs associated with import charges, taxes, shipping fees, and VAT, the opposite can sometimes be true. It is also easier to have your vision properly translated with a UK manufacturer, as the communication gap is far less when the provider is closer to home.

At Clothing Manufacturers UK, we invite our customers to be a part of the manufacturing process. We will offer fittings for the garments, allowing our clients to give direct feedback to ensure the desired product is created. Moreover, fabrics can be felt at our studio before deciding on which to choose - an advantage which does not exist with a foreign manufacturer, where it can take weeks for fabric samples to arrive. Generally, the production of our garments takes 4-8 weeks, whereas from an international provider, it could take a minimum of 12 weeks - and this does not include the time it takes to export the garments.

THE PROCESS

1

QUOTE

In order to provide you with an accurate quote, it is necessary that you send us your designs via email. Your designs can be in the form of reference images, clothing pieces from your wardrobe, sketches, technical drawings, or tech packs. To ensure that we fully understand your desired outcome, please include any additional notes with your designs. After receiving your designs, we will review them and provide you with a quotation. To help speed up the quotation process, please let us know how many units per style you require, size range and number of colour ways per style.

2

CONSULTATION

Once you have looked at the quotation and are pleased with the prices, we'll set up a consultation to bring your designs to life. During this meeting, we'll go over your design concept in depth to make sure we understand it completely. You'll be able to look at the fabrics we have on offer and pick which ones you'd like to use, view examples of our previous work, and ask us any questions you may have. This is the time to bring up any questions you have, and we can talk you through the next steps in detail.

3

PATTERN MAKING

To begin the process, we create patterns from the ground up. Utilising references, images, tech packs, and tangible samples, we construct designs tailored specifically to each client. If you desire an exact copy of an already existing sample, we can accommodate that request. As every service we provide is customised to our client's needs, the timeline for pattern-making varies and is contingent on the number of patterns requested, the intricacy of the designs, and our current workload. Typically, this stage of the process requires 1-4 weeks.

4

TOILES

A crucial step for creating fresh designs is to produce a toile. The first attempt at fitting a garment is often imperfect, regardless of the level of expertise of our pattern cutters. Therefore, a toile is a necessary component to refine the fit. However, if you provide us with physical samples and measurements, the process of perfecting your styles will be quicker and more successful. Please be aware that toiles are not altered. Should you require another set of toiles, there will be an additional cost. Typically, it takes 2 - 3 weeks to create toiles for all styles

5

GARMENT FIT SESSION

A garment fitting session is necessary when creating a toile or need to test the fit and shape of a new pattern. You may choose to wear the toile yourself or have a model do so and together we will identify any necessary pattern adjustments to us. We charge a fee for a garment fit session. The first round of alterations on the pattern will be complimentary, but any subsequent modifications will incur a fee. Some clients require 1 round of a garment fit session and on more complex styles, might require 2 or 3 fit sessions.

6

SAMPLES

Once the fabrics and trimmings have been picked out, we will create samples that look the same as the actual production garments. This is your opportunity to see the product. Sampling generally requires one to three weeks, depending on how much work we have and the complexity of the designs.

7

GRADING

Once your samples are perfect and you want to progress to bulk manufacturing, we will grade your patterns. If you have a specific grade rule in mind, feel free to let us know. If you don't know which grade rule would be the best fit for your brand and clothing, we can recommend the right one for you. We can grade using our grade rules. Grading should take around 1 week.

8

FABRIC/TRIMS ORDER

We can source your fabric and trims for you or you can provide your own. We have a wide range of fabrics that you can choose from however if we haven't got a swatch of a fabric you want we can try to source more swatches for you from our other suppliers. We need bulk fabric and trims with us before we start bulk production. Depending on the fabric you choose we can dye the fabric to your preferred pantone colour. We can source many organic, recycled and other sustainable fabric options for you.

9

PRODUCTION

Once the grading is complete and we have the fabrics and trimmings ready, we can start the bulk production. As we can get quite busy, it is important to book a production slot in advance to avoid being declined. We cannot start production until all the trimmings and fabric have arrived as the process will be thrown off schedule if they arrive late. Bulk production is the exciting stage when your designs are created in mass quantities. Generally, your garments will be ready in four to six weeks, although a large order may take up to eight to twelve weeks, depending on the intricacy of the designs and our workload.
